Shifts : Rotational, 24/7
Experience: 3-8 years
Eligibility Criteria -
1) Must not have constraints working in any of the night shift.
2) Must have experience working with US Clients
3) Must have good English communication skills.
Role expectations:
We seek a skilled Production Oracle DBA to assist our clients in setup, administration, backup, recovery, performance tuning and troubleshooting of production Oracle databases for a 24/7 financial application as part of our Client Care organization. The candidate must be able to communicate adequately both verbally and via email in English.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1.Perform database administration, maintenance, performance tuning, installation and backup/recovery of Oracle databases running Oracle 11g on Windows/Linux environments.
2.Knowledge of monitoring systems, respond to alerts, troubleshoot as necessary.
3.Planning and executing Database upgrades.
4.Database Tuning.
5.Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a rotational schedule.
6.Assisting client application support staff in developing database monitoring processes
7.Identifying and implementing database parameter changes to ensure optimum DB performance and reliability.
8.Assisting database configuration
9.Assisting in Backup procedures, and DR for clients
10.Implementing/configuring Oracle Management Packs
11.Work with customers to measure and manage service levels.
12.Ensure effective flow of communication between the database team, customers, and management.
Key knowledge, skills, or abilities:
*Oracle certification will be preferred.
*Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
*At least 3 years' experience with Database Administration.
*At least 2 years' experience working with Oracle v10 and v11 databases.
*Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, and Management Pack
*Experience on implementing/configuring RAC
*Experience working in a 7x24 environment.
*Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows), including scripting skills. Working knowledge of Linux a plus.
*Two to four years of data processing experience in the financial industry a plus.
*Have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills - The Administrator will be working very closely with our US Data Center Team.
*Experienced in handling stringent SLAs
*Interact with the multiple process owners in the US to understand requirements and communicate feedback /solutions.
*Following all the Information/Physical Security Policies and Procedures.
*Ready to work in Night Shifts. Able to work holidays, weekends, late nights or extended hours as business needs dictate. After hours beeper duty and extended weekly working hours may be required.
