Job Description
Build new Oracle production RAC databases, migrate existing production Oracle RAC 10gR2 databases to Oracle 11g R2 RAC databases; and patch Oracle production RAC databases hosted on a Linux environment (RHEL and OEL 5ux).
Deploy Oracle technologies (e.g., RAC, ASM, OEM/Grid, RMAN, Partitioning, Active Data Guard, Oracle Streams, and Data Compression) in production environments.
Adhere to standard build documentation and best practices as well as refining these based on experience and new findings from database vendors.
Provide design assistance, analyze and manage database solutions with technical emphasis in performance monitoring, problem identification and resolution.
Plan and communicate such deployments and upgrades in an environment with formal change control processes and compliance processes (e.g., SOX, PCI, and SAS70).
Work with Oracle Support Services to resolve issues and become familiar with Oracles escalation procedures to use as needed.
