Job Description:

Position: Oracle Database Administrator 

Experience: 4 to 5 Yrs 

Location: Chennai

Notice Period: Not More than 30 Days

Mode of Employment: Permanent Position

Skills:

Roles and responsibilities:

 

• Backup database using RMAN 

• Refresh (Cloning) database using RMAN 

• Export/Import of Schema/Tables (exp/imp and expdp/impdp) 

• User Management (Creation, deletion, Password Reset, Granting Privileges) 

• Managing Backup FS, Arch FS 

• Table space Management 

• Validating the Invalid indexes 

• Compiling invalid objects 

• Gathering stats pack reports 

• Upgrading Non-Prod database 

• Enabling/Disabling trace for user sessions, audits 

• Start/Stop the database 

• Modifying the RMAN configuration, database Parameters 

• Analyzing cause for database slowness 

• Data FS management 

• Killing the User sessions 

• Giving query plan for the users 

• Checking the database locks 

• Creating/Deleting database links 

Knowledge and Skills: 

1. Requires 2-4 years of database administration in Oracle database Administration 

2. Strong hands on experience in the Oracle database administration. It is preferable to have experience on the latest versions. 

3. Strong hands on in Oracle database performance tuning. 

4. Good hands on experience with Aix/HP-Unix environments are required. 

5. Experience with windows environment is an added advantage. 

6. Excellent communication and team orientation skills are required. 

7. Highly motivated, a Go-Getter who needs very little or no supervision. 

8. Proven track record of successfully handled performance tuning of Oracle Database. 

9. Working knowledge of the financial industry would be an added advantage. 

10. Excellent Unix shell scripting skills and knowledge in Perl is an added advantage. 

11. Knowledge on storage technology is an added advantage
